Gertrude Kistler Memorial Library
Services
From instructional support and materials requests to scanning and room reservations, this page describes the many services Kistler Library provides to the Rosemont community.
Borrowing is open to all Rosemont College students, faculty, and staff in addition to Friends of the Library and members of affiliate institutions (see Library Partners below). A current Rosemont ID functions as your library card. Most items circulate for 28 days at a time for students. There is no limit on the number of concurrent checkouts for Rosemont College community members.
If Kistler Library does not have firsthand access to the research materials you need,
you can utilize Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to request that a specific item be borrowed
on your behalf. Most materials can be requested through ILL directly on WorldCat Discovery.
You can also use the form linked below to request books or journal articles.
We also have reciprocal borrowing agreements with a number of area libraries, where you can also check out items directly in person. Rosemont College is a member of both SEPCHE (Southeastern Pennsylvania Consortium of Higher Education) and TCLC (Tri-State College Library Cooperative):
- SEPCHE libraries will lend materials freely to anyone with a Rosemont library card.
- TCLC libraries (and Villanova University) will lend to Rosemont students with a letter of introduction, which can be obtained from the Information Desk at Kistler Library.
Local public libraries can also be terrific resources for materials not held by Rosemont. Ask a Librarian for help navigating your local public library's resources.
Printing, scanning, and copying are available at the library for no additional fee. There are two publicly accessible printers in the Library: one in the Information Commons and the other in the B Level Student Lounge. Full instructions for printing are available in the Library.
An overhead book scanner is available in Study Room 205J near the College Archives. Instructions for use are available.
Users are responsible for respecting all applicable copyright and fair use laws.
The Library provides comprehensive instructional support to Rosemont College Faculty, including custom research guides, embedded librarian services, course reserves, and more. Contact the Student Success Librarian with any requests or email library@rosemont.edu. Click the link below for a guide to all our resources for faculty.
Want to request that the Library purchase a resource for its collection? We are especially interested in collecting titles published by faculty and alumni. Complete the form below to submit your request.
Most Library spaces are available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, members of the Rosemont Community may reserve spaces for meetings, classes, or special events. Use the form below to submit your space request.
Eleanor's Café, located in the Weisbrod Information Commons, provides affordable self-serve coffee and snacks. The Café's Flavia coffee machine can be used to make mochas, lattes, and hot chocolate in addition to standard coffee and tea offerings. A variety of flavored syrups are provided as a courtesy to Café patrons.
The Café also provides pay-what-you-wish snack options and a microwave for heating up pre-packaged meals. A vending machine has additional snacks in stock.
Standard coffee and tea cost just $1.00 per cup, while specialty drinks cost $1.75 per cup. A change machine is available next to the Library dumbwaiter.
The eLearning Coordinator manages all requests for media & technology setups. Contact media@rosemont.edu with all inquiries.
Laptop and computer workstations are available throughout the Library. The Snyder-Fugger Instructional Training Center (Room B17) is equipped with a smartboard and videoconferencing technology.
