Loans for Graduate School

A young man in a professional setting leans over a table in concentration. He wears glasses and a button-up denim shirt.

Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized loans. Interest on Direct Unsubsidized loans accrues while you are enrolled, while it does not on subsidized loans. The chart below show the maximum amounts that you can borrow per year as well as lifetime borrowing limits.

If you are an adult/independent undergraduate student, annual loan limits for Direct Loans are listed on the undergraduate loan page. Adult undergraduates are eligible for various federal and state of Pennsylvania grants. These are financial aid awards that do not need to be repaid. If you are eligible for any of these grants, the amount of any awards will be listed on your Rosemont College financial aid award letter. Graduate students are generally not eligible for any form of grant aid.

Alternative Loans

Also known as private loans, alternative loans are non-federal loans offered by private lenders such as a bank or credit union. They are available for both traditional undergraduate students and adult students in accelerated bachelor's degree or graduate programs.
