Transfer Credit
Transfer credit is evaluated by the Registrar's Office in accordance with Rosemont College transfer credit policies. No transfer credit will be awarded without an official transcript from the previously enrolled institution.
Students enrolled in an undergraduate program of study are required to
complete a minimum of 120 credits (3 credit courses). At least half the credits for
the major must be taken at Rosemont.
Transfer Credit Guidelines
Traditional Undergraduate College
- Transfer credit will only be awarded for work completed at an accredited post-secondary institutions or ACE approved training program or official score reports from a nationally recognized standardized exam (like AP or IB).
- Transfer credit will be awarded only for courses in which the student earned a grade of C (2.0000) or better.
- The College will determine the acceptability of credits and reserves the right to determine whether transfer credits are applied to general education requirements, requirements within the major, or elective credits.
- Pass/fail courses and developmental/remedial courses are not eligible for transfer.
- Different institutions utilize different credit systems and academic calendars. As such, courses completed at an institution utilizing a quarterly academic calendar will be converted to credits on the semester system.
- In order for a course to transfer, Rosemont must have a comparable department. Courses taken in departments outside of Rosemont's course of study, will not transfer.
- Courses evaluated as transferrable will be transferred as equivalent to a specific Rosemont course (when possible). If no equivalent course exists, the course may be transferred as general credit. If a student later decides to repeat that course at Rosemont and credit was given, the transfer credit will be forfeited since courses cannot be repeated for credit.
- Military Credits: Transfer of credits for military courses offered by the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Army Reserve, National Guard and Air Force will be considered upon receipt of notarized transcripts for courses that have American Council of Education (ACE) credit recommendations.
