Spanish Education Certification (PK-12)

Become a Spanish Teacher

With the United States on pace to become the largest Spanish-speaking country by 2050, the demand for bilingual professionals is higher than ever—particularly in the classroom. If you’re passionate about preparing the next generation to live and thrive in an increasingly multicultural world, then becoming a Spanish teacher can be a rewarding career.

To achieve this, Rosemont students pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and complete designated Education courses to prepare you for Biology teaching certification for grades 7-12. Students must also fulfill all testing and GPA requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Your major advisor and the Director of Education, who serves as a second advisor, will ensure that all required coursework is completed prior to student teaching.

The Education department also offers networking opportunities, help with resume writing, and engagement in mock interviews with teachers and administrators who work at area schools.

Master the language, be immersed in culture. Classes are conducted in Spanish, delving into the rich history, arts, literature and cultures of Spanish-speaking countries around the world. By the time you graduate, you’ll be competent and confident in holding conversations with fluent speakers, articulating your thoughts in writing, and reading a variety of texts.

Thrive in a close-knit, supportive setting. Rosemont’s intentionally small class size allows our students to make deep connections to their peers and professors, helping you find your unique voice and expanding your worldview.
