Education Degrees
Rosemont College Department of Education offers two degree options and seven certificate programs.
The BS in Elementary Education provides the student with the ability to teach in pre-school through Grade 4. The successful completion of this program, in addition to meeting all testing and GPA requirements set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, will lead to acquiring an Instructional I Certificate in the PK-4 span.
Requirements for a BS in Elementary Education
Students are required to complete a minimum of 120 credits to graduate. Education students typically acquire more than the minimum number.
Students must complete the requirements for the Teacher Education Program in Elementary Education and the general education requirements of the College.

Student Teaching = 12 credit hours
Students pursuing this track must teach in both the regular elementary education classroom and the special education classroom.
Students wishing to obtain certification in Pennsylvania must complete the following requirements:
- Be formally accepted into an approved teacher preparation program (see admission requirements for education majors at Rosemont).
- Complete an approved PDE certification curriculum and program.
- Maintain, in most cases, a 3.0 GPA.
- Obtain at least a "C" in the student teaching practicum.
- Take and pass all relevant PDE required tests (PECT and Subject Content Assessments).

Students may major in Studio Art and take the designated education courses to obtain an ART PK-12 teaching certificate. Students must also fulfill all testing and GPA requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
