Good News
There are endless examples of amazing things happening at Rosemont. We need your help in amplifying these stories so that everyone can share the pride in the individuals that help to make Rosemont an amazing community.
Employee of the Month – Angelique Colón, SGPS Admissions Counselor
Congratulations to Angelique Colón on being recognized as May’s Employee of the Month for all her contributions to the College. Angie says she fell in love with the Rosemont campus while on a tour in August 2019 as a prospective transfer student. Since that time, Angie has embedded herself in the Rosemont community as both a student and admissions staff member. Next month, Angie will be the first student to graduate from the professional studies BA in Writing Studies program.
Shout-out to Admitted Students Celebration Team
Shout-Out to everyone who supported our successful in-person and virtual Admitted Student Celebrations. The events were a true representation of Rosemont as a community. Staff, faculty, and students came together in a meaningful way to welcome prospective students and families, and it showed! Families feedback was great. Thanks to all for your support!
Shout-out to Jennifer Tuberosa, Julie Hyland, and Mary Kate Smyser
Shout-out to members of the Institutional Advancement team for all the coordination that went into planning Saturday’s Gala of the Century. Every detail was perfect! From all the smiling faces it was clear the attendees had a great night!

Alumni Video Series
As part of our Centennial year of celebration, we spoke with nine accomplished and diverse alumni who shared their personal stories of how Rosemont College’s mission and values have shaped their chosen path in life. Please join us in listening to their reflections about Rosemont’s spirit, how they felt seen and heard in a learning community where professors fostered independent thinking and personal growth, and what it has meant to be part of a caring and supportive community imbued with respect for each person while building friendships that have endured long after graduation.
Note that the following interviews were recorded via Zoom during the Centennial year.
Shakira Hansley ‘11
For Shakira Hansley, Rosemont may be small, but it’s definitely powerful as well. The environment was one where she could develop her strengths, notably connecting with people. Her professors fostered joy in learning through their excitement for teaching, their passion for their field, and their love of learning that spilled over to students. Hansley learned that the heart and soul of Catholicism is service, which she lives out everyday as an advocate for children.

May Centennial Reflection
“From the moment Rosemont launched its Centennial celebration, it was appropriately frothed with optimism and promise of things to come. For those who have clicked on these monthly reflections, this focus on meeting the wants of the age with compassion was an attempt to punctuate the celebration with touches of more sober topics. Not to squelch the festive side of things, but to season it, because it’s always best to ground our hopes and dreams in reality.”
Sr. Ann Marie Durst, former Rosemont president, discusses in her final reflection the need for hope amid tragedy.
