Katie DuBoff - September 4, 2024

Rosemont, PA - Rosemont College announces a special book reading and signing event with acclaimed author Alice O’Neill McLoughlin.

Date: Monday, September 16
Time: 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Location: Kistler Library, Rosemont College

McLoughlin will read excerpts from her new book, “More Precious Than Gold: My Enduring Connection with John McShain—the Man Who Built Washington.” Her memoir explores McLoughlin’s reflections on her deep bond with John McShain, the visionary builder behind some of Washington, D.C.’s most iconic landmarks, including the Pentagon and the Jefferson Memorial.

Following the reading, McLoughlin will sign copies of her book, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage with the author and delve deeper into the life and legacy of one of America’s most influential builders.

The McShain family are beloved benefactors of Rosemont College who supported the construction of the McShain Brown Science Building. McShain’s wife, Mary Horstmann McShain ’29 and their daughter, Sr. Pauline McShain, SHCJ ’57, attended Rosemont College.

This event is free and open to the public, and members of the Rosemont community and neighbors are invited to attend. Books will be available for purchase.
