Rosemont Competes in Community Bank Case Study Competition

Katie DuBoff - May 30, 2024

Rosemont is one of 21 institutions participating in the annual challenge across the country

A team of business students is representing Rosemont in the annual Community Bank Case Study Competition. Rosemont is one of only two schools from Pennsylvania participating in the challenge.

This year marked Rosemont’s fifth year partnering with Philadelphia's Asian Bank.

Rosemont students meet with Asian Bank officers. Each team has partnered with a local community bank to learn about the closures of Silicon Valley Bank, Signature Bank, and First Republic Bank, identify the case study bank’s expectations for regulatory and supervisory change, and how they use social media in their daily operations.

This is the tenth year of the competition, which is open to undergraduate students in all fields of study as an opportunity to gain valuable first-hand knowledge of the banking industry.

Working under the leadership of Rosemont business professors Christine Hagedorn and Ken Romanowski, students Angelica Sierra, Breanna Orosz, Kendyll Strohl, and Tyler Howard worked on this project from February through May, conducting primary and secondary research and crafting a case study about Asian Bank in alignment with the contest prompts. As part of the requirement, Rosemont student Edgar Valentin also produced a video documentary of the findings.
