Rosemont Student Selected to Attend 2021 NCAA National Convention

Lovest Diomande '21, a senior marketing major and sport management minor, was selected to attend the 2021 NCAA Convention
as part of the Division III Student Immersion Program. The virtual convention will
be held January 12-15.
"I hope to learn more about how the NCAA is run, particularly in Division III," said Lovest. "I also hope to meet with people and have them share their journeys on how they got to where they are currently. I think this is important because I’m graduating this May, and I hope by attending this convention I gain a better understanding of my potential career options."
The NCAA Convention is where the Association’s leaders of higher education and athletics connect each January. Presidents, athletics directors, other campus and conference administrators and student-athlete leaders from all three divisions come together to conduct the Association’s business, share best practices for supporting student-athlete success, discuss emerging issues in college sports, pursue continuing education, connect with peers and honor the Association’s best and brightest.
Lovest aspires to work in the marketing office of a sports team or athletics organization after she graduates.
"I’ve had a love for sports since I was about 10," she said. "I guess my passion for it stems from the entire process of how a team built. That’s why I really want to work in administration for either a professional team or a collegiate team."
CSAC Commissioner Adrienne Mullikin recently spoke with Lovest to talk about her background and what she hopes to learn from this experience.
This is the second year in a row that Rosemont has been represented at the annual NCAA Convention. Tobi Joshuasville attended the conference in January 2020.
